Working Together
I work with organisations and communities to explore human experience through photography, film and audio — particularly where the subject requires trust, sensitivity and careful listening.
Every project begins differently. You may have a community, a body of research, an important question or simply the beginnings of an idea. Together, we can determine what needs to be communicated and which form will serve it best.

When My Approach Is Useful
When people need to be heard in their own voices
Oral histories, lived experiences and personal testimony deserve space and shouldn’t be reduced to organisational messaging. I create work that allows people to speak naturally and with depth.
When ideas need a human dimension
Research, heritage and specialist knowledge can be difficult to communicate through information alone. Photography, film and audio can connect those ideas to real lives and help audiences engage both emotionally and intellectually.
When the subject requires trust
Sensitive, vulnerable or complex experiences need to be approached carefully. The relationship with contributors matters enormously, both to their experience and to the quality of the finished work.
When participation is part of the work
Some projects should be created with a community rather than simply about one. Workshops, conversations and collaborative processes can give participants a meaningful role in shaping how they are represented.
What We Might Create
You don’t need to arrive knowing whether your project should become a film, podcast, portrait series or something else. Part of my role is helping to identify the form, or combination of forms, that best suits the people, subject and intended audience.

Echoes of Change
Who I Work With
I work particularly well with organisations whose work centres on people, place, heritage or social purpose.
Heritage organisations and museums
Arts and cultural organisations
Health and wellbeing organisations
Community and place-based organisations
Universities and research institutions
Charities and purpose-led organisations
Schools, colleges and educational organisations
These areas reflect where my experience and approach are especially relevant, but they are not boundaries. If your organisation isn’t described here and the approach resonates, I would still be glad to hear about what you are considering.
