Behind the Mask is a photographic project made with the Bourne Borderers, a traditional Morris side based in Lincolnshire.

The work looks beyond the collective spectacle of costume, music, movement and ritual to introduce the individuals who sustain the tradition. Through portraits and documentary photography, it explores the relationship between personal identity and the public character adopted in performance.
